Life and Science with Millie and Aleks

First stop... you'll never guess. Its the BUTTERFLY HOUSE! And surprise surprise but I think today she finally got excited about the real butterflies. She is always very excited to carry around the giant identification card, but the real butterflies were VERY active today!

These two had a two minute conversation. We have no idea what they were talking about but Millie would say something and then stop. Grace would then respond. It was precious!

 Sitting on the butterfly bench.
Aleks, he is so handsome. :) and patient!
Grace sees a bench and immediately assumes we will probably sit down! She has been trained well.
We found a really neat area we had not seen before. There were rocks for climbing.
Everyone came over so they could be kind of the mountain!
And then everyone came back down. Great gross motor skills!
There were tunnels to go through.
There she goes! Luckily she has not yet figured out how to go up a step ladder! She did stand there for a while wondering about it.

There was mist to run through!
Yeah Grace wanted to be excited about it, but honestly she seemed to have a somewhat "eww gross" attitude, which kind of made me laugh. Normally she gets down and dirty with no fear. :) It was fun to see this side.
There were also sail boats to watch!

And even sail boats you could make yourself. By this point the Mama's were getting pretty hot and tired so we decided 10:45 was close enough to lunch time!
Yum Yum! I love this museum but most of all I love this cafe! They have the best food. Grace was chowing down on this fruit I got for me! Lucky she had yummy apples in her tray so we switched. :)
After lunch we went on the train. Can you ever have too much choo choo? I don't think so.
The girls set for a long time just looking around, mean while I sang wheels on the train and the horn on the train goes choo choo choooo. I'm pretty sure they thought I was crazy. hehe
We briefly stopped to check out the sandbox. Grace stuck two rocks in her mouth and I decided we should move on. hehe
 Drumming out.
I love how she knows where the sticks go after she is done, and where to find them when she wants to play some more.
 Drumming with Aleks.
 And more drumming with Millie.
Last stop, inside area so we could listen to Millie reading some books.
We had a wonderful day. :)

Dirt Tub and Pool with Caleb

Before we headed over to Caleb's house Daddy and Grace played with a box. Grace just wanted to go up and down. I just had to share this sweet picture of their fun loving relationship. :)
Caleb is getting ready to have a little sister! (Literally any day now) so We brought over a tub full of fun things for Grace and Caleb to explore. We had shovels, sifters, lizards, rocks, flowers, cars and more.
The kiddos had a fun time exploring all of the cool things.
Grace actually played with this tub of dirt for another hour later in the afternoon at our house. I couldn't believe how exciting it was! She loved when I would hide the flowers and then she would dig through trying to find them. :)

And then of course bringing the dirt over to the driveway and sprinkling it around was just as fun. hehe
After dirt exploration we headed to the pool. They have a great toddler pool. It is shallow enough for Grace to walk the whole thing. It is also surrounded by a fence, so she can get in and out of the water and I can sit by the edge of the pool and watch. Small enough to quickly address an emergency and big enough for her to fill totally independent. Yup that's my child. :)
 Just hanging in the pool.

Ok now I want to walk around the pool. (Notice her towel on the side... she brought it out of our bag and put it there so she could lay out....) Oh its starting so young small girl. hehe

She doesn't even need the stairs. She can climb out anywhere!

Waverly Splash Pad

As is her typical style when we first arrived at the splash pad G had to spend a while watching everyone else to make sure it was really a safe activity.
Yes that is right, my totally vivacious and independent mini is slightly hesitant to jump into an "unknown" situation.
However once she gets comfortable, it is a different story.
 Running with the big kids!
Every couple of minutes G would take a lap around the whole playground. Thank goodness it is all fenced in.
Mimi watching Grace.... as she attempts to get that water. Get it girl.
You did it! You touched the water! hehe
Only a couple times did it come up and get her right in the face, and although startled she thought those were pretty funny.
After the splash pad we had to stop and play our first ever game of cornhole!
Daddy would have been proud, she got all the bags in the hole. Although it was the hole right next to her and I'm pretty sure she used some illegal moves. :)
After lunch (which I totally forgot to get a picture of) we stopped at Gigi's cupcakes on the way back to the car. YUM YUM! Grace really had about 1/5 of this cupcake, Mimi and Mommy split the rest of it. It was DELICIOUS!
There is the piece she actually ate. :)
We took 2 cupcakes home for Daddy and Mommy when Grace goes to bed. shhhh don't tell (I had to hide the box in the microwave!)
She was passed out in the car before I even pulled out of the parking lot. This girl plays hard!
