Another day at tot school. I set this container of sea shells out yesterday and she has been so interested in it. She can't yet open it on her own so she walked around carrying it and trying to get me to open it. I would tell her, that is for tot school tomorrow. You can imagine that when I told her this morning, "its time for tot school!" The child ran over screaming with joy! Finally we get to check the shells out!
First she took each one out and fully examined it. I just watched.Once she checked each one out we really focused on if the shell was smooth or bumpy. We separated the shells into two piles, yes Mommy helped with this part! But G loved going back and touching them and saying "bummmy" and "sooooth" pretty good for 18 months. :)
Next up colander and pipe cleaners. This was a little challenging because she kept holding the pipe cleaner up so high that it would just squish and not go in the hole. I showed her how to hold it lower and she tried a couple on her own.
It was also really fun to flip it over and pull them out the bottom!
We sorted colors by finding a buddy for each guy. I would show G the green guy and say - where is his buddy? and she would find a green one. My child does NOT like sorting by color, but for some reason finding buddies was okay. :)
And then she pulled all the buddies apart!
Last we read a book and then sang some songs using the dancing scarves. It was fun to throw them up in the air and watch them float down right as we sang "down came the rain and washed the spider out"
