Tot School: Colored Clothespins

This one took a little bit of preparation work, but it went pretty fast during TV watching after G was in bed. I  picked three colors of paint to work on - red, blue and green. Then painted a few clothespins in each color and a small piece of card stock.
The next day it was all dry. You will have to excuse my semi-blurry pictures on this one. It was challenging to be fully engaging in her exploration and take pictures! First step was just showing her the materials. She thought the clothespins were fascinating.
As she attempted to clip the clothespins onto the paper we talked about the colors. We tried to match the blue clothespins to the blue paper.
Pushing our hands to make the clothespin open was hard work! We did 2 or 3 and then we just laid the paper out and put the clothespins on top, to give our fine motor skills a break. :)
Finally I cut a small hole in the top of the coffee can and G put all the clothespins back into their container. This was her absolute favorite part of tot school today. This girl loves figuring out how to make objects fit and how things go together.
