Doll House

Quiet time to play is equally valuable for these tiny brains. Changing out key toys in G's playroom helps her to stay engaged in a new activity. I always love when we pull out something she hasn't seen for a while, we get to watch how her play is different from the last time she saw the same item. With this doll house the last time she saw it she would pull out off the furniture onto the floor, and just touch and feel everything. This time she wanted the pieces in the house. When she wanted a particular piece she would take it out, like the grandma and a chair. She told me who the character was (boppy, mimi, mama, dada, etc) and then she tried to get them to sit in the chair or interact with the furniture in some way. When she was finished the doll got put back into the house. During this kind of play I try and take a back seat. It is so easy always drive their play, but then they rely on you for entertainment, not always a great thing! Sometimes just provide the new toy or materials and walk away to see what happens. :)
